Truckle, Loyd Robert Gladwin, Michigan. Formerly of Saginaw. Loyd, a World War II Veteran, passed away suddenly Friday, May 20, 2005. Age 77. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delphine, one brother, Jack, Saginaw; five children and their spouses, Janice and Larry Wehner, Saginaw; Bernice and Terry Eckley, Gladwin; Robert and Kelly Truckle, Linwood; Gail and Eldon Will, Eckerman; Karen and Charles Plank, Catawba, N.C.; 14 grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, May 24 at Sisson Funeral Home located on 135 N. Silverleaf in Gladwin. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 25. The funeral will be held at Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church located at 3925 Round Lake Rd. in Gladwin. Donations may be sent to the Gladwin Cornerstone Baptist Church building fund in lieu of flowers.

General Notes (Husband)
Twenty veterans of World War II received their honorary high school diplomas in a ceremony May 28 (Memorial Day) at Gladwin High School. The ceremony was held by State Representative Dale Sheltrown, who said he decided to recognize the veterans after receiving a call about a similar presentation held in Florida.
Gladwin Community School board president, Carol Darlington spoke to welcome the veterans, and their family and friends. The Gladwin High School band played the national anthem as the veterans saluted the American Flag. Karre Ballard, director of Gladwin and Beaverton Adult and Community Education, Gladwin Community School board members Carol Darlington, Linda Winarski, Margra Grillo, Mark Greer, Chuck Hinman, and Larry DeHart, and also the Superintendant of Beaverton Rural Schools, Robert Fehrs, all presented the veterans with their diplomas. Refreshments were served after the ceremony.
