September 2011: NEW ADDITIONS
New Native Americans In Michigan Site
This site is now transferred to the new server space!
New Native Americans In Michigan Site
This site will eventually dissappear, so please bookmark the new site. It has new features on it, if you sign up, such as a discussion for each page if you find an ancestor. If a member you can also add data to the site if you would like.
The new site will continue to
grow
. I have new material to go online and this will be my main focus for the next few weeks.
Added:
Land Allotments, Patents and Trusts
have been added.
Also, some smaller files that I recently found at the Michigan State Archives have been added. The search engine on the other site works very well and I am impressed with it's accuracy, I hope you are too.

The MIGenWeb Project
In March and April, 1996, a group of genealogists organized the MIGenWeb Project. The idea was to provide a single entry point for all Michigan counties, where collected databases would be stored. In addition, the databases would be indexed and cross-linked, so that even if an individual were found in more than one county, they could be located in the index.
At the same time, volunteers were found who were willing to coordinate the collection of databases and generally oversee the contents of each project web site.
My name is Patricia Wazny-Hamp, and I am the person responsible for
Native Americans In Michigan Project
. If you would like to contribute your information to this site, please let me know. If you would like to host a MIGenWeb county, or volunteer in another area of the MIGenWeb Project, contact Jan Cortez at the
