Affidavit in Probaate records of Nellie Bly
On an affidavit by Charles Cook of Harbor Springs, Emmet Co.
Michigan dated July 13, 1893.
"Charles Cook of Harbor Springs Mich.
being duly sworn, deposes and says, that his father's name was John Cook
and his mother's name was Catherine Cook and that they were married in
the township of Royalton, Niagara County State of New York, and as a
result of said marriage they had five children: viz. Charles, George,
Caroline, Ella, and Elizabeth Cook. Caroline married one Leonard Waldo
of Gratiot Co. Mich. and as the result of said marriage had two
children: viz. Grant Waldo and Eva Waldo, now Mrs. Eva Wooley of Elby
township Mich. Caroline is now dead. George is now living in Cheboygan
Mich. Ella, now Mrs. Stephen Perry, lives in Elba township Mich. and
Elizabeth now Mrs. Dressingor lives in Chaise Lake Co. Mich.
My father died in the township of Elba Gratiot Co. Mich in the year
1872.
My father had two sisters and three brothers, viz. Louisa and Nellie
Cook and Peter, Henry and Malvin Cook. Louisa married H. W. Bly, after a
while she died, when my aunt Nellie married this same H. W. Bly as his
second wife. Peter Cook died in Indianapolis Ind. in the year 1876 or
1877 leaving no issue. Henry and Malvin Cook are living I think in
Pierce County Wis."
