fact sources and writings about this individual:
Swiss passport to the US through France, 1854.
1880 Census, Gratiot County, St. Louis. Lists Jacob(55), Susanah(39), and
Gustavus(18).
Gladwin County Record (newspaper) 19 and 26 Nov 1880--account of the
accidental shooting and subsequent death of Jacob. Certificate of death
lists (incorrectly) village of Gladwin, county of Gratiot as death place.
He lived in Gratiot County, but died in Gladwin County...
Buried in St. Louis cemetery.
Big mystery: apparently his wife, Susanah died in or before 1869, leaving
real estate to her son Gustavus/Augustus (age 8)[why??]. A year later,
Jacob deeded the property away along with his (new?) wife Susannah! Have
found no record of their marriage or of the first's death other than in
the probate record establishing Jacob as Gustavus's guardian so Jacob
could dispose of the real estate...
Jacob was a practicing physician (in St. Louis?)
