Juho Matinpoika Säkkinen and Briita Jaakontytär Koitjärvi were married on 14 Feb 1875 in Taivalkoski, Finland. Juho, or John, came to America first and saved money for his wife and children to join him. They continued to expand their family in America and eventually settled in Kearsarge, Houghton Co., Michigan. Their primary residence was on County Rd. and still stands today.
