GEORGE, D., Private, Co. K, 1st Michigan Sharpshooters, aged 26 years, received, at the battle of Spottsylvania Courthouse, Virginia, May 12th, 1864, a wound of the head, with contusion of the bone, in the right parietal region, by a conoidal musket ball. He was admitted into the field hospital of the 3d division, Ninth Corps, and transferred thence to Washington, and admitted, on May 25th, into the Emery Hospital. He died comatose on the following day. The case is reported by Surgeon N. R. Mosely, U. S. V.
