(10/97/27)OBIT: Passed away suddenly Saturday, October 25, 1997, due to injuries received in an automobile accident. Age 46 years. He was born February 27, 1951 in Saginaw. He married Mary F. Rehmann May 23, 1975; she survives him. He had been employed by McArthur Roofing and Sheet Metal Company and enjoyed working in his sheet shop at home. He was a member of Sheet Metal Workers Local #7. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Hemlock and served as an usher. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman and a NASCAR racing enthusiast. He also collected antique tractors and participated in tractor pulls. Surviving besides his wife Mary are three sons, Ryan, Matthew and Brent and his dog, Chevy; six brothers, Donald, Jon (Pat) and special friend Shirley, Tom (Carol), Jim (Sue), Mike (Barb) and Kurt (Barbara); many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins and many dear friends. His parents, Andrew and Theresa Hoffman, predeceased him. A celebration of Richard's life will take place with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Thursday at St. Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Robert Gohm will officiate with burial in St. Andrew Cemetery. Friends may call at the W.L. Case & Company Funeral Chapel, 201 N. Miller Rd. from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and on Wednesday where they may meet at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday for a wake service. They may then call at the church from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until the time of funeral Mass. Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider St. Luke's Hospital Foundation.
