Mrs. Dorothy Hoffman Had Been Resident Since Civil War Days.OBIT: Mrs. Dorothy Hoffman, 89 years old, widow of August Hoffman and a resident of Kockville township for 63 years died Wednesday afternoon at her home there. She leaves 69 direct descendants-nine children, 30 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
OBIT: Mrs. Hoffman, whose maiden name was Dorothy Hartlep, was born in Germany October 2, 1838, and came with her parents to Roseville, Mich., when a child of 10 years. She married in Detroit in April 1855, to Mr. Hoffman, and they lived in Roseville until 1865, when they came to Saginaw county and settled on the Kochville township farm which had since been her home. Mr. Hoffman died in 1883.
OBIT: Mrs. Hoffman was a member of the Kochville M. E. church. Her nine children are: William F. Hoffman, Mill City, Ore.; Theodore Hoffman, Traverse City; August, Lewis, and Henry Hoffman and Mrs. William Hudson, Saginaw; Mrs. Henry Fischer, Mrs. John Noonan and Mrs. C. C. Dill, Kochville township. She also leaves one sister, Mrs. Esther Blake, East Jordan, Mich.
OBIT: The funeral will take place at 1:30 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the home of Henry Fischer in Kochville township and at 2 o'clock at the Kochville M. E. church with burial in the German M. E. Cemetery.
