No problem, Pat. It definitely looks typically Cornish, but the spellings
you give aren't in the book. They look like alternative spellings for
another one which is in the book:

-----
PENHALIGON From Cornish language penn - heligenn: "end of willow tree".
There is also a place name Penhaligon, Bodmin. Found mostly in Mid
Cornwall.

General Notes for Child Moses AMY

Believe this family has some relationship errors in it, as to the wife of Moses being Catherine. Due to her age it seems more likely she is a daughter-in-law and was married to a son of Moses.

In Reply to: Moses and Grace Amy-Ontario/Michigan posted by Wendy onMarch 14, 1999 at 09:03:13:
I have a Moses and Cotton Amy arriving from England around 1846/1847.Cotton had with him his sons Richard Amy born 1837 and James Hoskin Amy born 1845 both in Cornwall, England. As an adult Richard Amy moved to Grenfell, Saskatchewan. James was married in Elora, Ontario and had 9 children. At some point after 1899 he moved to to Manitoba (Darlingford )with his children. My ex-hubby is descended from Frederick Russell Amy,son of James. Unfortunately I don't know anything more about Moses except that in 1871 there were two in the Census of Ontario. I have not done too much research on this branch as of yet.
