ALLAN, DAVID (d.) The late David Allan, of Pilkington, was b. in Berwickshire, Scot., Feb. 17th, 1813. He came to Canada in 1833, settling first near Toronto, where he worked at his trade as a cooper until 1845, when he removed to Puslinch, and in 1849 to Pilkington, whe he set., upon the farm of 100 acres on lot 5, con. 2. He continued working with his trade in connection with farming and made flour barrels for the Elora and Salem mills. He was a man of reserved religious views he was Presbyterian and a Liberal in politics. He m. Agnes McQueen who was born in Lockport, N. Y. and is still living, at the age of 83. His death was at the age of 87, on Jan. 16 1901. Issue: Agnes, m. John Howlett and set. in East Luther; David m. Susannah Jane Jeffery a farmer in Southern Manitoba; Ellen, m. Samuel Auger and set. at Bay City. Mich.; Mary m. J. D. Larkin and set in West Garafraxa; James m. Maggie Hamilton and set. in Southern Alberta; Margaret (d.) m. John Duckworth and set in West Garafraxa; John m. Agnes Halls; Jane m. William Grose, and set in Peel Township; Alexander m. Margaret Susana Gibbon and set. in Stratford; Elizabeth m.
