OBIT: Passed away suddenly March 29, 2000 in Langley, Kentucky. Age 56 years. He was born August 20, 1943 in Saginaw, Michigan to Thomas Edward and Violet (Rovoll) Baase. He served with the U.S. Navy and was employed by Harvard Industries for 25 years. Surviving are his wife, Bertha, Albion; two sons, Christopher (Jill) Baase, Vassar; Chad Baase, Albion; two daughters, Patricia (Dale) Rutkowski, Vassar; Teresa (Tim) Wise, Marshall; one stepdaughter, Deborah Samons, Battle Creek; nine grandchildren; one brother, John Baase, Bridgeport; one sister, Margaret Gorney, Saginaw; his mother, Violet Baase, Bridgeport; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ralph Baase, Tom Baase Jr., father, Thomas Baase. Funeral service will take place 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 3, 2000 at Albion Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels. Fr. Gordon Greene will officiate with burial in Marengo Township Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday, April 1, 2000 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Sunday, April 2, 2000 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Albion Chapels of Tidd-Williams Funeral Chapels. Memorial contributions may be made to the family or to the American Heart Association.

Age 56, of Albion, Michigan, died Wednesday, March 29, 2000, at the residence of his mother-in-law, Gladys "Pet" Adkins, at Langley. He was born on August 20, 1943, in Saginaw, Michigan, the son of Violet Rovoll Baase of Saginaw, Michigan, and the late Thomas Edward Baase. He was an employee of Harvard Industries for 25 years, and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He is survived by his, wife, Bertha Bernice Adkins Baase. Other survivors include two sons, Christopher Baase of Vassar, Michigan, Chad Baase of Albion, Michigan; two daughters, Patricia Rutkowski of Vassar, Michigan, Teresa Wise of Marshall, Michigan; one step-daughter, Deborah Samons of Battle Creek, Michigan; one brother, John Baase of Bridgeport, Michigan; one sister, Margaret Gorney of Saginaw, Michigan, and nine grandchildren. Funeral services were conducted Monday, April 3, at 1 p.m,, at the Chapel of Tidd-Williams Funeral, in Albion, Michigan, with Father Gordon Greene officiating.
