*May 11, 1997- Nana was what everyone called her. She was a wonderfulwoman, full of life and fun. I was fortunate to have gotten to know herquite well as I was growing up.
She first taught school at the age of 16. She loved piano and in lateryears became a piano instructor.
She and Fred Jackson met in Oxbow when she was 16 and had a 5 yearengagement. They lived in Saskatoon, Sask. for most of their marriedlife in the same house.
She was involved in many ladies leagues and even got to meet the Queen ata tea. Her Majesty also sent Nana a telegram on the event of Nana's100th birthday.
Once when she was in her early eighties, she remarked to me "I am readyto die any time. I have outlived my husband and all of my friends...Iwill not be sad to go." She lived almost 20 years more. - SherilynPowers*
