Died Sunday at his residence. Age 78 years. He was a retired custodian from First Presbyterian Church, Saginaw, formerly worked for the City of Saginaw, was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and a member of the Sheet Metal Workers Union in Saginaw. He was preceded in death by wife Sophia Baase, one daughter, JoAnn Garrett, one son, Terry Lee Baase, two brothers, Gilbert Baase, David Basse and one sister, Jane Macataro. He is survived by five children, Pamela Gail Russell and Timothy E. Baase, Ekron, Ky.; Kenneth Baase, Louisiana; Louis Edward Baase Jr. and Marsha K. Gilman, Saginaw, Michigan; seven brothers and sisters, William Baase, Fritz Baase, Beatty Campbell, Hazel Sandburn, Saginaw, Michigan; Mary Clark, Oklahoma; Robert Baase, Zilwaukee, Michigan and Almeada McFerden, Foxboro, Minnesota. Also survived by 21 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 5:30 p.m. Tuesday from the Chapel of Bruington-Jenkins-Sturgeon Funeral Home, Brandenburg, Ky. with Rev. David Sturgeon officiating. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Baase, David P., Saginaw, Michigan. Beloved father, grandfather and brother passed away Wednesday, November 25, 1998 at James E. Cartwright Care Center following a lengthy illness. Age 59 years. The son of the late Herman J. and Hazel (Cosgrove) Baase, David was born October 12, 1939 in Saginaw, Michigan. He had been employed at General Motors Delphi Plant until his retirement. His most avid expression for life was to be on a lake fishing. Surviving are one daughter and three sons, Cynthia Dumbra, John and Brenda Baase, David and Kathy Baase, Gilbert Baase and his fiancee Donna Buchanan; 10 grandchildren; five sisters and four brothers, Agnes Williams, Mary Clark, Beatrice and Howard Cramer, Hazel Sanburn, Almeda and Ray McLaren, Willis Baase, Charles and Coilah Baase, Louis Baase and Robert and Dorothy Baase; many nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by one brother, Gilbert Baase. Honoring Mr. Baase's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment of cremains will take place in Foxhome, Minnesota. Baase, September 16,1933, he passed away November 10, 1990. She lived in AlbeeTownship for the past 54 years. She was a charter member of the BurtAssembly of God where she was a Sunday School Teacher for severalyears. She was under the pastoral care ot Pastor Mark Bernthal. Surviving are her children, their spouses and families, James and Hariet Barror, Chesaning; Virgil and Emily Cline, Montrose; Henry and Diane Baase, Saginaw; Frank Baase, Montrose; Dale and Jessie Hall, Indiana; Gerald andPatricia Boucher, Saginaw; Harold and Gayle Baase, Indiana; Gerald and Linda Sykes, Montrose; James and Ellen Emmendorfer, Chesaning; Dennis and Shirley Tessin, Romeo; a daughter-in-law, Donna Baase, Montrose; 46 grandchildren, 66 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bernice Simmons, Nancy Laney; several nieces,nephews; special friends, Phil and Karen Brown.
