Thomas married Thomasine Hawkey of Bodmin, on 09 Nov. 1823. They too,
lived in St. Mabyn, where he was a carpenter. Sometime between 1841/51
the family moved to Higher Pengelley, (now part of Delabole), in St.
Teath Parish. However, by 1861 Thomas and Thomasina had returned to St.
Mabyn.

Will: The goods of Samuel Auger deceased. Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Auger, William Henry Auger, and Ann Auger and the alleged will of the deceased with the affidavits of Execution thereof, and the xxxxxxunreadablexxxxxx of value of property, and the Executor? Will: I Samuel Auger, of the Village of Elora in the County of Wellington and the Province of Ontario, Yeoman, do make and declare this to be my last Will and Testament , hereby revoking all form Wills and Codicils.

Will: I give, divide and bequeath to my Sons Moses Auger and Aaron Auger their Heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, for their own absolute use and benefit, all my right, title and interest to Lot-number Sixteen of the Sixth Concession of the Township of Pilkington and Province of Ontario, subject to the following conditions and payments: - That is to say, an annual payment by the Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger, their Heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, of One Hundred and Fifty Dollars to my wife Ann Auger, in lien of dower if she should survive me, on the first day of January in each year, during the term of her natural life, and the first of which payments shall commence on the first day of January after my decease, and a delivery of the residence of the Said Ann Auger of Ten cords of sawed wood between the first day of January and the first day of April in each such year, and a further delivery of Two Hundred pounds of Sound fresh Pork between the first day of October and the thirty first day of December in each year, and the payment by the Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger, their Heirs, executors, administrators and assigns, of a total further Sum of Five Hundred Dollars to my daughter Mary Jane Mighton in five annual installments of One Hundred Dollars, with interest at eight per cent per annum, the first of which payments shall be made to the Said Mary Jane Mighton on the first day of January succeeding my decease: Provided that if the Said Moses Auger or Aaron Auger, his or their Heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, neglects or neglect, or refuses or refuse to make to the Said Ann Auger or Mary Jane Mighton aforesaid, any on the payments hereinbefore directed to be made to said Ann Auger or Mary Jane Mighton. Such Lot-Sixteen Shall become the property of and absolutely vested in my wife Ann Auger for her sole use and benefit upon her payment in full to the Said Mary Jane Mighton of such portion of the Five Hundred Dollars aforesaid directed by me to be paid to the Said Mary Jane Mighton and remaining unpaid by the Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger, their Heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, and in case of the death of my Said wife Ann Auger previous to the date when the whole of such annual payments to the Said Mary Jane Mighton shall have become due and any of such payments remain unpaid when due, I direct my surviving executors to enter Suit without delay against the Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger, their Heirs, executors, administrators or assigns, for recovery of such amount due and unpaid. Provide further that upon Satisfactory proof of the whole of such payments having been made to the Said Ann Auger and Mary Jane Mighton, my executors or any surviving of them shall convey by Deed an equal portion or moiety of Said Lot Sixteen or as near as may be thereto with due regard to equity as to the value each of such portions to my sons Moses Auger and Aaron Auger respectively, their Heirs, executors, administrators or assigns further Sole use and benefit.
Will: I also give and bequeath to my sons Moses Auger and Aaron Auger to be jointly to be jointly (signed Samuel Auger C.C.) divided by them as they may determine all personal property in their possession at the time of my death and belonging to me: Provided that this bequest Shall not relieve Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger from payment of and liability for, certain Promissory Notes made by the Said Moses Auger and Aaron Auger in my favor and which if unpaid at my death become the property of my wife Ann Auger.

AUGER, SAMUEL - The late Samuel Auger, of Pilkington was b. in Cornwall Eng. and d. in 1880 at the age of 66. In the old country he was a millwright. Wishing to better his condition in life, he resolved to emigrate to Canada, and after an eventful voyage and undergoing the terrors of a shipwreck, he finally landed safely at Quebec, and from there came to Pilkington, where he set. on lot 16, con. 10. He was a good and pious man, and successful as a farmer. He was Steward and Supt. of the Sabbath School in the Methodist church, and was a Liberal in politics. He was a Magistrate for a number of year. He m. Ann Amy, who d. in 1886 aged 67. Issue: Richard m. Elizabeth Gooding, set. in Michigan; Thomas m. Sarah Ann Hill, set. in the N.W., Samuel, m. Ellen Allan, set. in Michigan; Rebecca (d); William Henry (d); Mrs. Henry Mighton (d) ; Moses; and Aaron m. Margaret Mighton set in Winnipeg.
BIOGRAPHY: Moses owns the homestead of 100 acres, where he carries on mixed farming and dairyint and the feeding of cattle for export. He is a successful farmer, a Methodist in religion, and a Liberal in politics. He holds the office of School Trustee. His first wife was Matilda Mighton. Issue: Milford L. m. Mary Stickney (d) set in Pilkington; Charles, professor of languages in the U. S. , and Ada at home. His second wife was Ann Gross (Grose) Issue: Viola W., Bera (Vera), Orley and Harry I.

I submitted what info. I had to Moira, together with info on my Gt. Uncle
William, James and Samuel Auger who also emigrated in the late 1800's,
when they first started gathering info. for the Anglo-American
Connection. William, by the way, was in Michigan, before moving to
Colorado. (checked and William worked in the mines in Houghton Co. then moved for a short time)

Samuel, the youngest son, married Ann Amy in St. Teath Parish Church on
15 May 1837. They lived at West Downs, which is halfway between Delabole
and St. Teath. At the time of the 1841 census they had two sons, Richard
(b.12 Mar.1838) and Thomas (??Dec. 1839). They may have had at least two
more children before they emigrated to Canada, circa 1848.
